Within the scientific visit's program of the Hashemite University, several students of Natural Resources &Environment Faculty, Land Management Dept. , visited today the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC). The visit started with a presentation about NARC's goals, activities and departments, besides, the center's inputs and contributions to the agricultural sector and the research programs and projects conducted.
Dr.Nizar Haddad, Director General of NARC expressed his happiness for such a visit since it is a good opportunity to familiarize the students with national agricultural research institutions. Paying attention, at the same time, to the effective role of NARC in networking and corporation with the national academic organizations to transfer and implement, up to date, scientific research outputs that support the agricultural sector towards sustainable development.
Dr.Abeer Abu Sherb, Director of Plant Protection Dept. at NARC, pointed out that the visit included the different functioning laboratories such as the nematode, viruses, bacteria, and insects since these laboratories represent the applied and the field aspects of plant protection principles.
On his part, Dr.Ahmed Alhamawi professor of plant protection at HU praised the scientific professional capacities at NARC expressing, at the same time, his appreciation for the center's administration for the valuable information presented.
