Haddad: Marketing Analysis and Skills, Tools that protect Local Products

As an activity of the project NARC is implementing in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation "Jordan Valley Water Sustainability and Agribusiness Competitiveness" within the Program "Increasing the Resilience of Poor and Vulnerable Communities to Climate Change Impacts in Jordan through Implementing Innovative Projects in Water and Agriculture in Support of Adaptation to Climate Change", a five-day training course on "Market Analysis and Marketing Skills" has been commenced today.

The training course targeted participants from the Jordan Valley Farmers’‘ Union, the Ministry of Agriculture, the private sector, NARC, the Water Users’‘ Association, and graduates of agricultural faculties, to provide them with theoretical information and scientific skills in the field of marketing, to enhance the capabilities of the trainees. "This course will provide researchers and extension officers with the necessary skills about the concept of marketing, which includes a set of operations and activities that are represented in studying the market and determining the target groups of customers, studying their needs, requests and demands, and work to achieve them, and determine competitive prices while ensuring the quality of products". Haddad explained.

Haddad also elaborated that good and systematic marketing is necessary to protect Jordanian products in light of marketing challenges facing the agricultural sector, which require quick solutions through training and qualification and creating a marketing environment and synergy with national institutions to achieve participatory approaches in providing the agricultural sector with expertise.

The Director of the Economic and Social Studies Research Department, Dr. Masnat Al-Hiyari, stated that in light of the great development in the field of business in its various orientations, the field of marketing has evolved a lot, as the technological development that our world has witnessed has provided an opportunity to use modern methods of marketing, that easily reach the largest possible group of customers. She also added that the goals of the marketing process relate to consumers, to determine their trends, and mobilize efforts towards meeting and achieving them, and to maintain a competitive position among commodities.
