The Romanian Ministry of Agriculture: NARC is the house of Experience in Irrigation Water Management

The Director-General of the National Centre for Agricultural Research, Dr. Nizar Haddad, received the delegation of Romania under the chairmanship of the Romanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Adrian-lonut Chesnoiu, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Mohamed Al-Hayari.

During the meeting, Haddad briefed the main agricultural research conducted by NARC in the domain of non-conventional water use, irrigation network, and modern irrigation systems. These systems, have a vital role in the optimal use of water and high-quality productivity, as well.

On the other hand, Haddad commended the high-quality control of Jordanian extra virgin olive oil and the high quality of Medjool date enjoyed. In addition to the locally manufactured fertilizers, and pesticides. Haddad pointed to the distinguished Jordanian vegetable seed companies, guaranteed, by NARC through applying the highest quality control standards in the world for seed screening and testing.

On his part His Excellency, Mr. Adrian Chesnoy expressed his admiration of NARC's role in conducting and implementing applied scientific research outputs., confirming at the same time his willingness for collaborating in different agricultural fields, since Jordan is a habitat for many wild plants that are included in improvement and breeding programs, especially wheat and barley varieties that are included in mixed hybridization with many global varieties that are drought and salinity tolerance and climate change., as well.

The Minister showed interest in Jordan's experience in embracing innovators and entrepreneurs through the Innovation & Agribusiness Incubator
