Dr. Lana Musa Abu Nuwar the director of the Directorate of Economic and Social Studies is distinguished with knowledge in work nature and in preparing and monitoring operational work plans, and having the knowledge and technical skills and employing them to complete the work, in addition to working with team spirit, besides presenting several achievements on several levels:
She contributed to setting NARC's strategic plan with what goes with the sustainable development goals, she participated in the National Agricultural Development Strategy for the year 2020-2035, through the proposed project of the priority of introducing modern technology, and preparing the operational plans through following the participatory approach, and the detailed project plans. In addition to the Assessment of achievements through outputs and performance indicators. She can predict problems and find solutions for them through undertaking risk analysis for projects, and the best example is contributing to reducing the problem of water security, and accessing finance from innovation and scientific research fund worth 15640 dinars for this project.
She also worked on an economic feasibility study for the use of solar energy in agricultural crop irrigation, their feasibility was expressed in official reports, and the outputs were adopted as a policy at NARC, and it was added to NARC’s strategy, which had an impact on obtaining funds for projects form national entities, including IFAD, which supported framer with solar power systems, for the farmers to only pay 25% of the cost.
At the level of staff development:
She can manage staff performance, according to the capabilities and skills of the staff, and specify the role of each one in the operational plan through the distribution of the work. She always makes sure to show the employees the elements of monitoring performance and functional behavior and reviewing the performance record with the employees to achieve and enhance the strength points and how to address the weaknesses. She also held periodic meetings, listen to the subordinates’ feedback, and hire the right for it.
She always makes sure to improve the performance and abilities of the subordinates, in addition to identifying the necessary training requirements, by nominating them for training courses. She also appreciates the staff’s efforts in completing the work efficiently and quickly, through incorporeal and financial motivation, besides working on guiding the employees to make the right adjustments related to the required tasks.

She made a research proposal to study the economic feasibility of using solar energy in the irrigation of crops, where the problem of energy cost is 30% of the total input cost. She also made a comparison between the electricity bills for the targeted farmers before and after the use of solar energy. The agricultural credit corporation adopted the study’s recommendation, it gave the farmers a loan related to solar energy with zero interest, and the center was given a letter of thanks for this. She published a scientific paper in refereed scientific journals to benefit and adapt this technology.
She sought to improve the agricultural research in the field of the value chain of agricultural crops and focus on high-added value crops that open export markets, she also has an analytical study of the value chain for date palm in Jordan in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development. she contributed with setting a work plan to promote the Jordanian majdoul date in Japan. she trained women to produce date and linked them with the farmers to set up small exhibitions inside the farm to sell the produced date, and she received a letter of thanks from the regional cooperative Union of Balqaa governorate, she also represented the government side in the project (value chain and the enhancement of the competitiveness of agricultural crops/ World Bank) she worked to develop the standard operating procedures SOPS for some crops to help farmers to export.

Dr. Lana sought to improve her knowledge through enrolling a the master's and PhD programs at her own expense. she participated in several specialized training courses in Jordan, such as the Scientific Research and Innovation Course, and advanced statistical analysis SPSS, she was given a letter of thanks for getting the highest grade in the exam of the training course, in addition to other specialized training courses outside Jordan, she joined 3 training of trainers courses in Germany and Japan, she also got a certification of an expert in agricultural value chain management form Holand. She participated in international conferences and the National Olive Festival. The skills gained from the courses were employed in training 75 farmers from South Shuna, and she obtained a letter of thanks from the Dutch organization ( Partners for Good). She sought to shift towards modern digitization, such as field surveys through electronic questionnaires. She received expert rank in business management and agricultural projects from the Agricultural Engineers' Union.

she can take full responsibility and do voluntary work and initiatives such as the Hazardous Waste Management Initiative. In addition to implementing training courses to build and train the ability of the farmers, women, and youths in cooperation with different cooperative societies, she received a letter of thanks from them. Besides that, she is a member of the association of TAG-Org Alumni Association. She participated in making a documentary about the ecosystem services in Wadi Araba. In addition to participating as a member of the Social Committee and attending social events such as Iftar Ramadan. She also cooperates with various institutions and ministries such as participation in the Economic Modernization Vision Committee with the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Planning, and the Ministry of Higher Education. Besides strengthening cooperation in the agricultural sector between the Centre and various State institutions, such as cooperation with the General Customs Service.
