Agriculture Minister Eng. Khaled Al Henefat sponsored the signing ceremony of 21 agreements under the Agricultural Innovation Entrepreneurship Incubator at the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), with General Director Dr. Khaled Abu Hammour present. This initiative is part of a plan to transform creative ideas into tangible entrepreneurial projects.
Al Henefat highlighted that NARC has achieved significant technical advancements by automating research procedures and applying scientific research outcomes through the incubator, which is contributing to the agricultural sector's development. He noted that the next phase will require innovative ideas and collaboration with both international and local partners to further advance the sector.
Dr. Abu Hammour emphasized that the Agricultural Innovation Entrepreneurship Incubator embodies modern technology and employs the latest techniques through an integrated system. This system supports innovators and creatives by providing essential services and consultations to help establish and develop projects. He also mentioned that the centers role includes incubating and preserving knowledge and creative assets, investing in human capital, and enhancing the creative and intellectual aspects of incubated projects. Abu Hammour also pointed out that the incubator has hosted 80 projects, of which 40 have graduated and become partners with the incubator.
The signed agreements cover a range of projects, including drying oyster mushrooms and agricultural products, developing an agricultural employment platform, detecting Red Palm Weevils, implementing aquaponics, cultivating saffron with an aerobic system, hydroponics, recycling wood waste, producing organic fertilizers from waste, farming data analytics, cranberry production, recycling mushroom waste, recycling industrial cotton, creating a remote irrigation system, healthy food products, tropical dragon fruit cultivation, a smart irrigation system, Roselle cultivation, plant enzyme correction, and turmeric production for supplements, fertilizers from waste, farming data analytics, cranberry production, Plant-tissue waste recycling, recycling mushroom waste, recycling industrial cotton, a remote irrigation system, healthy food products, tropical dragon fruit cultivation, a smart irrigation system, Roselle cultivation, plant enzyme correction, and turmeric production for supplements.
