NARC Explores Smart Agriculture Collaboration with Chinese Delegation

The Director General of the National Agricultural Research Center, Dr. Khaled Abu Hammour, met with a Chinese delegation that included representatives from the private sector, the Chairman and Consultants of a Chinese company, and members of the Jebreen Group. The discussion focused on potential cooperation in the field of smart agriculture technology.

Dr. Abu Hammour stated that the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) aims to transfer modern technology and knowledge, particularly in the area of smart agriculture. This approach covers all stages of agricultural production, from seed planting to harvesting, using robot-based systems. This technology is the first of its kind in the region and is designed to increase productivity. It also focuses on adopting modern techniques to develop high-performance seeds that can adapt to varying production conditions. This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on agricultural sustainability and land productivity.

During the meeting, Dr. Abu Hammour expressed the center's willingness to cooperate with the Chinese delegation to establish a model smart farm at NARC's stations across the Kingdom. In addition, both sides discussed implementing joint research projects in this field.

Eng. Jin Lee, CEO of the Chinese company, praised NARC's pioneering role in applying research findings and transferring modern technologies to support the agricultural sector and promote sustainable development. He emphasized that this collaboration would enhance agricultural research opportunities and help position NARC as a leading platform for smart farming in the region.
