NARC and JICA organize a training course on soil science and plant nutrition

In cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the National Agricultural Research Center is organizing a specialized training course for researchers from Agricultural Research Center in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The course is titled 'Soil Science and Plant Nutrition: The Impact of Organic Fertilizers on Soil Physicochemical Properties.'
The Director General of NARC, Dr. Khaled Abu Hammour, emphasized that the guidance of the Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Khaled Huneifat, encourages building cooperative networks with fellow Arabs, especially in the Kurdistan region, to strengthen the abilities of researchers and empower them in agricultural fields, particularly soil, plant nutrition, and organic fertilizers.
Eng. Shorouq Al-Maaita, Director of the Agricultural Consultation and Training Center at NARC, stated that the workshop highlights the role of organic fertilizers in improving soil properties and agricultural productivity. Participants from Jordan and the Kurdistan region discussed the impact of organic fertilizers on soil quality and their role in improving plant growth and increasing yields.
Al-Maaita noted that the five-day workshop covers topics such as the impact of organic fertilizers on soil properties, strategies to improve soil fertility, and the relationship between plant nutrition and soil properties.
This workshop is part of a joint effort between NARC, JICA, and the Agricultural Research Center in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. It aims to enhance scientific knowledge, develop professional competencies in agriculture, and provide insights into the use of organic fertilizers. This initiative fosters regional cooperation and the exchange of scientific expertise to address modern agricultural challenges.
