NARC launches Hadi Al-Ais days for the camel sector

Under the guidance of the Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Khaled Huneifat, as part of the National Plan for Sustainable Development and Livestock Welfare, Dr. Khaled Abu Hammour, Director General of the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), instructed the Livestock Research Directorate to organize the Veterinary Medical Day for camel keepers in Wadi Araba. The event was held under the name [Hadi Al-Ais] and attended by Eng. Rabab AlKabariti, Director of the Wadi Araba Agricultural Research Center, and Eng. Muhammad Awjan, Head of the Al Reesha Agricultural Center. The veterinary days were fully supervised by Dr. Muhammad Al-Araishi, a camel disease expert at NARC.
Dr. Al-Araishi stated that NARC had launched a series of free veterinary days for the camel sector, entitled [Hadi Al-Ais], with the first day of this series taking place in Wadi Araba. The event was organized with the participation of the Wadi Araba Agricultural Research Center and the Al Reesha Agricultural Center.
Dr. Al-Araishi noted that this free event targeted more than 45 camel keepers and involved the examination of over 120 sick camels, with appropriate treatments provided. Dr. Hiba Al-Hawrani also participated in the event.
He added that the day was not limited to addressing medical conditions. The staff at NARC also provided veterinary consultations and offered important tips to the camel keepers. The activities carried out by NARC in the camel sector are in line with the FAO's 2024 Year of the Camel initiative.
