Project Description
The Reem Mushroom Farm project aims to produce high-quality oyster mushrooms using local wheat straw as a growing substrate, within a clean and sterilized environment based on modern scientific principles of sterilization and precise control of temperature, humidity, and ventilation. This approach ensures product safety while enhancing production efficiency and continuity.
The project is based on the concept of sustainable agriculture and the circular economy. Its activities are not limited to mushroom production only, but also extend to utilizing farm by-products after the completion of production cycles and converting them into value-added, environmentally friendly products, including:
Non-traditional organic soil amendments derived from organic waste, contributing to waste reduction and improved resource-use efficiency.
Biochar, used to enhance the physical and chemical properties of soil and increase its capacity to retain water and nutrients.
Organic compost produced from agricultural residues to improve soil fertility and structure.
Multi-purpose plant extracts used to enhance soil and plant properties and improve biological efficiency through natural methods.
Compost and bokashi fermentation accelerators, based on natural biological processes, aimed at speeding up organic decomposition and improving the quality of the final fertilizer.
The project contributes to reducing agricultural waste, supporting organic farming, protecting the environment, and enhancing food security. It also creates local economic opportunities, with future potential for expansion into agricultural processing and sustainable bio-based products.
